Examity's round-the-clock services include the staffing of professionals trained in technical support and customer service, while the company's proprietary technology secures exams, verifies the identity of test takers and prevents academic dishonesty. The Texas A&M University System will have the flexibility to select the level of security that matches each unique test including live, recorded and automated solutions.
The Texas A&M University System is one of the largest of its kind in the nation, with a budget of $4.2 billion, a statewide network of 11 universities and seven state agencies, and more than 150,000 total students.
“After a thorough evaluation process, the A&M System was able to clearly identify Examity as an online test integrity solution that fit well for our system membership,” says Mark Stone, CIO for the Texas A&M System. “We are looking forward to partnering with a team that can provide us the proctoring flexibility, integration and reliability we need.”
As online education options have grown, so too have demands to maintain the rigor and quality of online courses and testing. A 2016 report released by the Babson Survey Research Group found that more than 5.8 million students took at least one online course in 2014. Eduventures, a Boston-based education research and advisory firm, predicts that the number of universities and colleges utilizing online proctoring services will double from 1,000 in 2015 to 2,000 in 2016 to cover online courses, degrees and hybrid programs. Examity has monitored an estimated 50,000 tests monthly during 2016.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Natick, Massachusetts, Examity provides a cost effective, flexible and tailored test integrity solution that includes live, recorded and fully automated solutions. The company's proprietary keystroke identification technology, Examikey, provides an enhanced level of assurance for institutions when determining the identity and authenticity of test takers. Since its founding three years ago, Examity has partnered with hundreds of institutions and certification programs nationwide.
